I wonder if anybody has actually dumped the business hardware back in Comcast’s lap and purchased their own?

It is not a big deal in a residential setting, and if you are a CXI, the lines of communication are excellent and allow getting it done in a hurry.

CXI installers unfortunately can’t talk on the business side. And I don’t know if there are complications in trying to replace business hardware. I would like to know if anybody has done it successfully.

Sure, tell the customer to have them put the modem in bridge mode. Do it all the time.

He wants to buy his own gear. Not sure if they approve in ComcastLand.

I purchased a Motorola MB8600 for my own office. We have limited choices in service providers in our building. Unlike my home Comcast service, we have had zero issues in the office since it went in over a year ago. Not a single reboot required. I kind of forgot what the network closet even looks like.

Yes Comcast allows it. Hell they have to. I worked on a project that was 800,000 sq ft. Comcast isn’t about to try to manage a facility that large that not only needs great WiFi but needs to be able to manage hundreds of users and multiple subnets and vlans
