One of my suppliers is recommending us to try Integra receivers. We have had good luck with Denon so haven't had the need to look elsewhere.

For those that have used Integra, what are your thoughts?

Gussied-up Onkyo - but price protected. seems the last time i looked at them they were not as feature rich as Denon/Marantz, Yamaha at the same price points.

We are and have been for twenty years all Marantz. They just sound sooooo good.

My one and only experience:

I was going to start using them and at the same time I needed a unit for my own system so I purchased one (approx 3 years ago).

I did all the research on the hdmi issues and what not, was hearing everything was resolved.

Well, on my unit I get split second dropouts of audio and also some type of weird motion effects on video randomly.

Will not use ever again, too many choices out there. My go to is Sony ES line.

This is going back 8-10 years ago.... so take that fwiw.  I was an Integra dealer until they started having their hdmi issues.  It was a total cluster...I would never in a million years use another one...not if they gave it to me for free.

Before I was a Integra rep I was a Integra dealer for 6 years. I had one failure that was covered in with a advanced replacement. I was very happy with the line.

It does have the only currently official "Works with Sonos" Integration.

The warranty program is the best in the industry.

There are some who will never go back. But the bottom line is the brand is growing again.

Jack:

When you get a chance, would you please send me the info to download the program necessary to do a web based setup for my DRX5 (it seems that I have misplaced my remote).

Thank You

We only use Integra and it just works. Yes, there was the fiasco with the HDMI chipset from TI, but it wasnt just Integra that had the issue. They took care of it and its all history. Solid line.

So the Pioneer and Onkyo integration of 'works with Sonos' is unofficial?

Also, is the brand secure financially? The info about their private equity owners from the Caymen Islands is somewhat... sparse? Are you confident they'll continue to be in stable hands for a while?
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

Clearly the Pioneer and Onkyo are sister brands and are official.

Financial stability does not seem to be a problem form my limited view.

Also...there is a major back-end migration of systems that will effect supply. Get orders in today for any early to mid-April business.

We switched from Denon to Integra right after the HDMI issue and never looked back. Almost no problems (can't even remember any, but I'm sure there have been some.).

Financial stability will be interesting, but that's a 'moving forward' thing.
Through out Europe Onkyo Pioneer Corp have given up distributing their brands, instead they've farmed it out to Aquipa, who are also the distros for Thule roof racks + Marshall speakers etc etc. Who knows what's going to happen through out the rest of the world?

Aside from the typo... isn't there a lot of pressure from ALL clients for spending less money on just about everything?

I'm always suspicious of "simply" phrases, so much so that I came up with this several years ago:

In my experience, whenever anyone says "simply" or "just" in describing a process, they are about to omit seventeen facts crucial to the success of the venture.

Or, paraphrasing Ben Goldacre of the website https://www.badscience.net/, "actually, it's a little more complicated than that."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
"The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw
