I'm starting to look at solutions that will support Ethernet with POE over siamese cabling (i.e. RG59 with 18/2) in order to upgrade a camera system from analog to IP. The specific project I'm focused on currently has 8 outdoor analog cameras.

Any success stories out there?

Here are a couple of products on my radar:

If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Unless you have a reason to require IP technology, I would just use and HDCVI technology and get up to 4K resolution. They are typically less expensive and less of a network security issue. When you start use adapters, trouble shooting becomes much more difficult.
Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

I found these when I was looking into a similar solution. We didn't end up using them and just pulled wires but they are not cheap either if I remember correctly.

With all those solutions, the price is really up there. I have to wonder just how difficult it is to run new wire. Because it would have to be pretty damn difficult and expensive, in order for any of those 'IP cam over coax' systems to be worthwhile.

One of these per camera and re-use the 18-2 as your 2-wire connection.

I concur. We are a commercial security group and 98% IP but with some of our legacy analog systems (especially a low camera density like you describe) it just makes sense to go with HDCVI. Looks great and cheap as hell. Compared to converting with IP over coax and then using a $600 AXIS camera.

BTW, we KBC Networks all the time, great wireless product

We use a lot of the HDCVI and HDTVI in the "low budget" resi market, and the results are surprising. we have several installs with less-than-100bucks cameras that actually have better resolutions than IP cameras we've seen around.
