Anyone know of a 4-8 output AC power distribution unit that can be controlled (each outlet, or at least some outlets) via IR? Not BB or RS232.

Thanks!

This is a great idea. A few years ago, I believe I found that the price of three Xantech CC12s (the product in the link) were near in cost to the price of a CC62, which is a six relay version of the CC12.

This is a horrible idea but only because of the large amount of space it takes up. And the hugely thick (but long!) power cord.

But is there a smaller device with multiple individually controlled outlets?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

This is also a nice (and available) IR controlled (learn any code you choose) Relay.
For a decent price.

I just noticed that the Furman unit is a recycled Niles one.

Brent, it would be helpful for you to include the retail price of items such as this, so we'll have a general idea. That would help us out.

You've done a good job of having this product's information pretty well locked down on metra sites, but even the review on CePro had no pricing info.

Have you ever worked on the weekend? Take a moment and stop laughing... we often need to be able to put SOMETHING down as a price on an estimate that we could not start working on until after work on Friday.

Thanks.

If you have any AVRs in the rack with unused trigger outputs you might be able to connect them to CCI-triggered PDUs. (like the Furman listed below). I hate dealing with Xantech accessories - especially the ones which require their stupid remote to program them).

In my own system I have a "Reboot" button on my kitchen URC remote for the rare time that my FiOS goes down. All it does is tell one of my Integra AVRs 12v volt triggers to turn on for 30 seconds. The trigger is connected to a Lowell CCI-controlled outlet into which my FiOS ONT plugs into. The other thing connected to the Lowell is a 12 volt transformer connected to a N.C. relay. The relay is for the battery inside the ONT. I have to disconnect the power AND the battery to reboot the ONT about every other month. I got tired of having to run down into the basement. Or, I could call Verizon tech support lol.

In about ten years with FIOS I don’t recall rebooting the ONT except incidentally during battery replacement.

Will the Furman take direct IR commands without the CC12?

Ernie, I have no idea what the retail price is (or any price for that matter).
I do not have access to the sales software and once an item leaves my desk for production I am out of that loop.

Reading the specs, I'd say no. There are various DC ins and outs, and the specs say sequencing can be done (giving the unit "indirect" RS232 control) if you use a Furman Smart Sequencer... all of which points to no direct control by IR.

Lucky you. We have that problem in my area. I can call tech support each time and they reset something at their end (this takes about one hour of being on the phone with multiple people). Or I can just do a power cycle.

Other than this one (apparently local) issue, I wouldn't trade FiOS for anything.

(Wattbox IP strips have a contact input for outlet cycling, including ability to have specific outlets with turn on delays; bring your own button or contact as discussed above)

I see Wattbox products with multiple manual switches, but I don't see any places to input a control voltage (or a dry contact), especially per outlet.

What's a model number that's got that?
