with all CEC activated on both pieces the apps on the TV work fine and send the sound to the sony just fine. when i switch back to the HDMI input on the samsung (away from the apps), the receiver will not allow me to chose CABL/SAT or BD - it just locks onto the HOME screen. I also get no picture on the Samsung.
when i turn off CEC on the Samsung the Sony starts working fine. I know the answer is RUN AN OPTICAL, but its harder here than said. have you run into this or found a fix?

because, as stated, running an optical is not easy in this instance I want the products to work rather than a workaround as usual. CEC works great with Denon.

its samsung. I have had a few issues with the BEAM and CEC. I updated the firmware on the TV and it helped.
Install a Roku, TV apps SUCK.
