Does anyone know if you can have this TV perfectly vertical without wall mounting it? I just saw one specified on a job of mine without a wall mount and I am afraid the homeowner is going to have an issue with a negative tilt. One of the worse TV designs ever.
Yes & no.
You can prop the back to make it vertical but then it is likely going to fall forward at some point and shatter. Since it would be just balancing on the front edge.
If you use those TV safety straps and tension it from something behind, then you could do this propping the rear up. But good luck finding a place to anchor that safety strap, that isn't going to look like poo.
Best just to wall mount it. Either flat (at least as flat as you can with that huge plate back there), or on an articulating mount.
