2N Verso with a Panasonic KX-TA824 phone system.

Anyone know if theres an adaptor out there that can help facilitate these Panasonic phones to ring when a call is placed from the intercom?

Customer doesnt need to be able to talk (a plus if possible ) just needs to be able to ring the phones.

Maybe something inline before the CO reaches the PBX? I imagine Viking or someone has something like this?

Any help appreciated...

If the 2N has a programmable relay which can momentarily close when somebody rings the bell, then you can buy one of these for around $125:

You just need the controller and not any door station. The relay on the 2N would connect to the door 1 input on the DoorBell Fon controller which in turn is connected to the Panasonic phone system.

It wouldn't allow you to speak/listen to the person at the door.

That's a tough one. As mentioned above if the 2N can output a contact that can trigger the system to ring. If the PBX already has a doorstation card installed there is nothing else you would need. You would just wire the 2N relay to card as if you were wiring a doorbell button to it.

On the more advanced side, something like an ATA would work. However, these are typically used in the opposite way for example connecting a fax to an IP phone system.

You could always upgrade the phone system. The NS700 would handle the 2N directly as a SIP extension, and the existing phones would work as well as long as hybrid line cards are installed.

Good info folks. Going to look into it. Didn’t know I could keep the old phones with
The new PBX.

The intercom has a relay but it’s used to open a gate after access has been granted. Have to see if I can get a second relay from them that can activate on a call.

The current PBX has the doorstation card installed.

Gonna give 2n a call Monday.

There is an I/O module part No. 9155034 with 2 relays, not sure if it comes with a bus cable.

Thank you, going to look into it. I have a spare bus pass through cable from the finger print reader.

Just want to clarify something before I continue with this.

Can someone positively confirm I can just wire the relay to the 2 wire connection on the doorstation Card?

Just took apart a Panasonic doorphone ( KX-t7775 ) and when I push the button I don’t get any continuity from the connections on the unit.

Just want to make sure it works as if I was replacing the doorphone with a relay.

TIA

Just a follow up on this. Went ahead and used the IO module to add an additional relay as suggested. Worked great. It does come with the bus cable but you’ll also need to add the Integration license to allow it to use the Call button to control the relay.

All in all it was quick to install and setup. Thanks a lot folks!
