Bought an old Asus Vivo VM62N mini PC to use for my Zwift online cycling app. It has a fresh install of Windows 10 Ive been updating for a while. When I connect the HDMI cable to a new TV no problem, but when I connect to a very old 32” 720 it says that it is incompatible. My new Asus gaming laptop works on the same old TV. Graphics card is Intel and driver is updated. Anyone know what it could be? Ive tried all resolutions.

I was thinking about a DIsplay Port to VGA to Display Port to HDMI adaptor to cure the problem. Anyone know if any of these will wirk any better?

Maybe once the windows updates are done it will work. Who knows. At worst Ill have to buy a new small TV

Is it possible your old TV will only take a 1080i signal? A lot of newer PCs can't do interlaced.

Failing that, I've seen some systems that don't understand 1080i try to output 1080p on a set that will only take 1080i.

Maybe if you can hook up dual monitors you can see what it's trying to output on the TV, and change that.

Still no luck. Windows is updated and I updated video driver from Intel site. Funny when I first turn on the PC I see the Asus logo for a few seconds and the screen shows 1024 x 768. After that the image disappears and the screen displays Not Supported. I tried adjusting to 1024 x 768 while it’s on the newer TV. Still not supported. Not of the resolutions I try works. Could it be a broken video card?

My new laptop works on it. When I check the video settings it does show dual monitor and 1080 resolution for both sets (32” LCD and built in 1080p monitor) even though I know the TV is a 720p set that must be about 10 years old.

I just tried an Atlona sync device (AT-ETU-SYNC)and picture works now. Looks like crap though compared to image from laptop. Wonder what the problem was ans why it doesn’t happen with my laptop.

Just for the heck of it I tried my laptop through the Atlona sync device. Looks like it makes the image crap too. It makes the graphics look like lower bit images even though it’s supposed to be 4k compatible
