Client has what looks like a 5 year old LC-70LE847U with ARC.

Like to use a Sonos AMP but wonder if Sharp ARC could potentially be glitchy.

Any experience?

Sonos trainers say that ARC doesn't always work- that should tell you all you need to know.

I have not had a problem so far with ARC and Sonos, but so far, it has only been with Samsung and LG televisions. I am naturally suspicious of Sharp.

The last experience I had with a Sharp television, outside of just plugging HDMI inputs to it, was trying to make a playbar work with one. I had to go into settings, to enable the optical output, and life was good. That is, until I turned the television off, then back on again. The setting disappeared. Repeated tries were also a fail.

I ended up using an optical switcher from each of the source devices to the playbar.

Wow, Sharp again, got it working after showing an error on Sonos. "Something is interfering with the HDMI signal" but it began to work just fine, until I turned the TV off and back on again. No sound.

Ran out of time and will have to go back.

I REALLY miss the days where everything worked when you were done!
And STAYED working for years!

I thought Sharp was out of the TV biz a couple of years ago.
Did somebody buy the name or are they back in?
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

This one is five or six years old. Hoping they might have perfected something, but alas…

Still around- IIRC, Hisense or TCL bought the name or has some kind of unholy union going on.
