Anyone know of a stand-alone exterior unit that has a biometric reader a built in camera and offers an iPhone app?
Client wants to replace a stand-alone fingerprint reader at his gate to something newer with more features. Currently it’s a Suprema unit that opens the gate via fingerprint.
Fingerprint is a must which leaves out things like the C4 DS2 which is what I wanted to use.
TIA

Apparently 2N does have a Finger print reader. This might be exactly what I need.

Hacking fingerprints: [Link: wired.com]It's easier to just cut off the finger of the owner of the house or business. Keeping it on ice opens up the window of opportunity.

I listened to a podcast one day with an ex military guy that is now in security consulting. Contrary to what hollywood tells us, biometric security is apparently the least secure option there is. Also, where a code is protected as intellectual property, your face and fingerprint is not.

A devilish computer science teacher in college suggested cornea scans for authentication. His twist was that a “poker” be included in the apparatus. If the eye scan fails ... .

And.....Replace automobile airbags with a big, sharp spike in the middle of the steering wheel. You just described the dashboards of most cars when I was growing up. The hard metal dash came to a sharp point and many of the knobs for the radio and heater etc. were tapered and spiky.
