Nah, the current thought process is "It's out their online, so it's free. It's not theft of service because it's out there.".
The moral values have changed. Everything should be free, and it's not my fault are the accepted thing now. Moral values have changed? Lol how do you explain slavery, the Nazis, the great depression? Vietnam! The only difference is that today everyone can steal vs just the rich and well connected.

These posts illustrate why system quality is on the decline, and why vinyl has a rebirth.
With records you have to go and find it, spend time flipping through stacks, and it's special to you, your friend can't instantly acquire the same thing with out cost or time. I found it! A prize! I must protect it, it can be broken. And with special things, you treat them better, want to enjoy them more, it's emotional. Which is what music is suppose to be about.
With digital, a few clicks and blah, anybody can do it, nothing to hear here. No value, no emotional attachment, no cost, no commitment. Who want's to spend money on recreating that?

For us, Netflix has been a constant. Every other app service I've tried I've canceled to tried something different, sometimes coming back and even cancelling again. I've bounced around every other service for a multitude of reasons (price, content, service, etc.)
As long as they keep the content coming and don't f@ck up the ability to watch it from anywhere, they'll continue to be successful.

The fact that some of my clients pay upwards of $200 a month for service at their house but DTV expects them to also pay that amount for service at their cabin and garage condominium is pretty savage. Give people some kind of a deal to split that bill between their multiple properties. Right, because people who can afford multiple properties (garage condominiums?) are hurting so much. First, MAGA-Man takes away their mortgage deductions and property tax deductions and now they have to pay to watch TV? Oh, the humanity!

One of our local news stations posted this on facebook and almost all the comments were "if I can't share I'll cancel" or "I pay for it I should be able to do what I want". I didn't see 1 person saying that people should be paying anyway, ect.
One person was saying they put this stuff out as a social experiment to see how the general public will react, maybe some truth to that. If so they got their message in the post I read.
Do they want an open hand where people share and experience their content, not everyone is paying but their product is spreading/expanding? Especially using very resonable strategies like limiting available streams. Or closed fist strategies where you can't share outside your home. Alot less of your content leaks out to unpaying customers but alot less people get to "taste" your product making it less likely they'll subscribe.
It's probably all nonsense as other posters have said, a couple of these CEO's have said they're for account sharing. They will probably switch strategies if they think the market is saturated, like cable companies.

Please spare me any more of your stupidity will ya? What is utterly ridiculous is how people like to white wash history and pretend that evil and crime just cropped up over the last generation. Spare yourself the stupidity.

I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone. |

Moderators, it's time to start cracking down on the people who insist on turning every post into a Political battle. Most of us come to the "custom installers lounge" to have back and forth discussions about our work and the technology involved. Please start banning those that can't handle the real world, so they make adolescent attempts to take out their frustrations here.

These guys are generally much more careful with their money than the average person from my experience. They need to see value. Edit- I was at a clients home yesterday, his net worth is into the 10s of millions easily. He wants all the smaller cable boxes taken out of his main home and all the cable boxes taken out of his 10k square ft family vacation home thats 2 hours away. Him and his son kept refrencing the $5 per month the smaller boxes cost and how quickly roku sticks would pay for themselves.

Should people be forced to pay? You're referring to a Netflix policy thats not in place. Edit- I know I'm trying to teach my kids not to be like everyone else, we'll see what happens. I don't agree with being like everyone else though. Most are living paycheck to paycheck, if they can afford the payment, they can afford it. I've learned alot from these people.

If one company goes out of business three new ones take it's place. You're referring to a Netflix policy thats not in place. Half this thread is referring to it.

Half this thread is referring to it. The comment you're reffering to is regarding people with multiple homes using one account.
