I’ve never used the Vera stand-alone. I use it for elan integration. But since they do have an app, I believe it will give you app notifications. The 2gig sensor will also let you close and open the door remotely

Or use the interlogix transmitter which I've used hundreds of time: [Link: interlogix.com]

with a 2 channel reciever: 60-760-95R .  Since I use DSC mainly, I can sometimes use the DSC sensor with built-in tilt switch or the sensor with screw terminals so I can use the GRI switch above.
