We need a 3 or 4 input source by one HDMI out switch that has rca audio extraction. It's for an outdoor projector which will be connected to 2 or 3 sources and an sls landscape system. It needs to be controlled by IR so we can program it into the system. Any recommendations?

You want angel wings on it too?
You’re probably going to have to take an HDMI switch, and send that output to an audio extractor.

I’ve only used version 1 but From the pictures it looks like version 2 does as well. It has a headphone jack that says audio out.

You’re probably going to have to take an HDMI switch, and send that output to an audio extractor. and if you do that, you will have hot plug issues. i've had that issue with a metra switch and a metra hdmi audio extractor. the extractor would need its power pulled from it to get video to pop in. we have since moved to the metra all in one 4x1 with audio output (just recently released) and have had no issues with that.

There's the Monoprice HDX-401TA. $40 -$50 depending on where you buy it. Four HDMI in, one out. Mfr says 1080p @ 60 Hz.
Drawbacks: one input is on the front. The entire thing is so small that a reasonably-sized HDMI cable can lift it up or pull it off the shelf. It has LEDs bright enough to cause blindness, or at least they seem that bright.
Advantages: Simple. Works. Discrete IR commands. Analog audio output, Optical and coaxial, too.

What could go wrong with an hdmi switching mechanism that's sold on low price as it's principle attribute?
Several vendors make them. Brent is an excellent resource, and while perhaps not the cheapest on the list, does reliability fit into the list of requirements?

Brent's model is surprisingly inexpensive. It is cheaper than the Vanco that we used to use (that we also had issues with)
