Happy New Year!

Picking up a Panduit Wire Organizer Kit [Link: panduit.com]

Thoughts and/or experience on something similar for speaker and coax cable.

Thanks,

Following along, as I am about to buy something similar myself...there was a thread from a long time ago where I think I remember someone saying they used the same device for speaker cabling, but it was too small for quad-shield RG6.

Was that something where the cables were fed through it during pre-wire, then the 'comb' was pulled toward the head end and wire ties installed along the way?

I'm thinking of making one- I have some sheet PVC that could be fastened to a joist and if I drill 3/4"" holes & round over the edges, it won't chafe.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

A small piece of mdf board with 24 holes routed in does the trick. We usually run the cables through the comb at rough in, leave them all there until we are ready to fit off when racks/trays are installed.

I agree that you can drill out any 8”x8” square in a 6x6 or 8x8 hole pattern, but the beauty of the copied links above are the ability to remove mid span. I need a couple of those in my bag.

Lol! Speaking of XT- could swear that NeXT was a thing until good looking installs happened.

Yup, save the effort and put the cabling in sleeve.  We are now working with IT managers in data centers who will not accept a combed bundle.  Upside for us is the labor doesn't really change but its way faster.

Thanks,

When I was working in the training and education dept for CEDIA, I ordered in the Panduit and the ACOM units to add to our show-and-tell handouts that we passed around during the Residential Install BootCamp classes.

Dave Pedigo and I also used them during a rack upgrade in the BootCamp lab spaces in the (now former) CEDIA HQ in Indy.

I liked the ACOM slightly better in use, but both are great.

One note in favor of the Panduit: Their unit had a little more flexibility in the groove spacing. It could bend to open a touch wider if you were combing some bundle cable or 14/4 or something larger diameter. The ACOM is pretty rigid, and it's really for Cat and RG6, and maybe 16/2 or whatever as long as the diameter is close to the same as Category and RG6. :)

I used both of them on the project, and they are cheap enough that I would purchase both to have in my bag if I were actively out cabling up projects today.

If you only have the budget for one, you really can't go wrong either way.
