Any 4K over Coax extenders that are reliable?
All I can find is the usual no name or cheap name stuff that I'm sure doesn't work.

It really depends on the coax. Copper-clad steel RG6 could be an issue. What do you have?

RG6 Quad.
Extender distance is approx. 75'.
Its a short range but there's no possible way to run wire without major repair.
I have coax available and want to be 4k because this is a second zone TV on a Marantz. If that TV doesn't get 4k then both rooms are downgraded to 1080p.

Does anyone know of anybody who makes a 4k extender over coax?

Sadly, there is nothing that I have found (yet) that will correctly support 4K on coax. I am still looking......

Maybe find a way to get the video on the LAN and setup a small client device where you want the 4k (android box or single board computer).

I tried the giggle search for this a while back and came up empty also. Would be a nice product for those jobs with Cat 5 runs that won't do 4K with an extender reliably (apple 4K TV).

We went down the route of looking at it from an IP standpoint and the substrate technology limitations related to supporting 4K and HDR
tossed a wrench into that.

Our 4K provider supplies MOCA 2 adapters to use existing COAX and we get 4K over it. I picked up a pair from Amazon and they work awesome.

That’s great for streaming but I need a 4K balun/extender for an existing hdmi signal.

What if you Throw in some JAP and send it over IP?

That would be an expensive solution for 1 tv.

Yes, it is.
We are still looking for an SDI replacement that will support 4K/HDR/10 Bit and HDCP 2.2.
For us without the full support of the HDMI 2.0 spec it is a loser.
And then of course 2.1 is coming.

There are numerous SDI devices in the broadcast space that will do all of this,.. except for HDCP. SDI is one way only.

Sadly, everything that I have found from the broadcast side tops out at 12G (and that takes 2 cables). NAND of course as you stated they do not support HDCP 2.2 which is a “must have” feature.

What about this? It is HDMI over transparent fiber. I haven't taken the time to research it so I don't know if it is an option or not.
