Just under 7 years ago i was browsing pet finder and came across this bright red square. Clever marketing got my attention.

I found the most adorable pup with a heart on her nose. Her mother was saved from a kill shelter in Michigan. She wasn't breathing but some mouth to mouth resuscitation brought her into this world. She turned 7 today.

Thanks to the flash our birthday girl appears to be fully charged.

How adorable!

We've always had rescue dogs. Our current dog came from Kansas and was brought to us in upstate New York for free, on a small airplane, through a volunteer program called Pilots 'N' Paws.

Dogs are GREAT!

Cats,,,,not so much lol.

I have two outdoor dogs. They roam freely. I'm about to the point of stating ALL dogs in my future will be border collies. Crazy smart and obedient.

I went to discuss sound for a wedding at a customer's house- they had one dog when I was there last but now have another. Not sure of the breed- some kind of hound- but it greeted me as if we were old friends and it was the first time we had met. Good sized dog, too- it's head was almost waist-high and I'm 6'-2".

It would be hard to resist that one as a pup.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

Valerie Bertinelli (The tan colored dog) is a mix-mutt. Apx 50% American Pit Bull Terrier. Apx 25% bloodhound and a whole mix of other stuff. We were supposed to be fostering her but then she broke her knee so we just ended up keeping her. She was born in a cage inside the home of a hoarder. When rescued she couldn't stand up on her own so she had to wear these little casts for a while.

As you can see...the casts worked and she can now compete in mixed martial arts in our back yard...

She looks identical to my one dog. Same color, markings on the paws, tail, ears and size. My dog was a rescue and we were told it was an Olde English Bulldog. She has dark color up to her eyes and more of a boxer mouth. I love hearing about rescue success stories. Yours looks like she turned out well.

I currently have four dogs!
All rescue dogs.
The first was on purpose, the second just showed up at our rural property.
the other two stole my heart when I was adding a couple cams at the humane society!
We also have a cat!
They all get along fine except for when the dogs go outside.
Then the cat gets depressed until they come back in!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Note to self......
Stay away from the humane society!!
I wanted to bring them ALL home!

I have two fenced in acres but the house is only 2000 sq ft and it gets a little crowded when they are all inside!

I went to the city pound for the first time about seven years ago. Was VERY excited and couldn't wait. While driving to the place, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning anxiously awaiting for everyone to get up. I was in for a SHOCK!

It was one of the most disappointing experiences. Heartbreaking. I, too, wanted to take them all home. Really was a bad experience and saddening. Dont really know why I had a different expectation. Hated the way I felt when I left.

Ended up rescuing a dog that was abandoned by its owner to his mother in a small town about 25 miles away. She just couldnt take care of it and wanted the pup to have a good home. Thats what it got.

That’s our daughters name too- after my favorite aunt8/ Lol!

We have a coonhound we took in from the Lancaster, PA SPCA by way of Mississippi- 2.5yo sweetheart of a dog! Our last rescue “Fella” was a beagle mutt, also a rescue but passed of cancer at only 4yo- we were devastated but took in Dixie about a year later.

Mac, you’ve got some serious cuteness there- enjoy!

The Shih tzu on the right is our newest addition. Hes about 10 years old. He became mine when the last owners two other dogs almost killed him. Took about 6 months to fully heal.
