I thought maybe since Christmas was just here, this would be the time to ask if the Apple Watch is worth getting yet. Has there been enough apps added to make it more useful than just having a phone?

After watching TIM COOK behavior, it is time for me to transition to Samsuck phones.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

But, don’t you also need an iPhone within Bluetooth range? If so, what’s the point of strapping on an oversized watch? True, the Watch can measure some biometric data. I suppose that this could be critical for some users.

They'll work fine (for some stuff) without your iPhone nearby. Moreso if you buy a model with a cell modem in it.

I kind of like the 4th gen with the bigger screen, but I still think they're too expensive for what they do.

Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? If so....
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I have been using the Garmin Fenix 5X Plus and like it much better than any apple or android based watch.

Well, this is what I’m trying to figure out. Are there any apps that the watch makes more convienent? And while the 3rd and 4th gen watches can make calls without a phone, they require another $10 a month service from Verizon.

If elan would come out with an app I would probably pull the trigger.

I don’t think so. Who needs a watch in 2018? Please explain why?

Actually, I miss having a watch. My wife got me a watch I really liked for a wedding present, but it broke. So I haven’t worn a watch for a few years. Maybe I just need to get a decent watch.

I have the series 3. I use the Sync Solver to send and receive data from my fitbit app. This allows me to ditch my fit bit. I like being able to see my messages on my watch without having to pull my phone out of my pocket and unlock it. We use an app to pay for parking throughout the city. It sends me a notification to my watch, but doesn't to my phone. This means when my meter is up, it lets me know, and I can pay for more time. Super helpful. I also use the flashlight a lot when in an attic. I have a protective screen, so its protected from scratching but is a little more bulky. All in all, I like it.

the health and fitness aspects are nice. its also more convenient to glance at a watch for the time rather than pulling out the phone.

notifications as well. I get a ton of notifications, but very few need my immediate attention. being able to see if its important without, again, pulling out the phone would be nice.

Following too. I know creston and Alarm.com have apps. I use both systems extensively in my office and house so it would be cool to have access to those quick features without having to open my phone.

I wore a Mickey Mouse watch for years. Then pervert Mickey kept sticking his hands in his pockets.

He's in a drawer now. God only knows what's happening in there....

Haven't had a watch on for at least 10 years and don't miss it at all. I get there, when I get there, if I get there at all.
