Sonos should not have jumped to that conclusion, but you can understand why they did. The client would have gotten an email follow up, I would have jumped on that email and had a follow-up email to the client with a retraction.

On a side note, I listen to an audiobook this week while ripping apart an old system, and I found out where your tagline came from 😀
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

30% is not no margin. People always claim this. It may have less margin then some other products, but you can still make money. Sell Connects and you still can get an amp and speakers sale, plus labor. Sell an Amp and still get speakers sale and labor. Sell the play line and and get in and out in less time then it takes to gas up the van, plus labor. At the end of the day, year, decade, you will have zero Sonos related service calls. You'll likely get called to add more and be referred to others. I haven't found a single product that offers the benefits of Sonos. The downside is Sonos the company. They will try to sell your client. Have a so-so client and they will circumnavigate you. Have great clients and they will still come to you. Integration. It's better then it was in terms of reliability, but not great. It is limited in functionality. I only use it integrated in one of two.scenarios. They already have Sonos and want to continue to use it with a new system. 2, the streaming source is available only on Sonos.Lastly, I have never, not once, had a customer complain about sound quality via Sonos. In fact, quite the opposite. They've all LOVED it, whether it be a connect streaming to an amp, a connect:amp, or a play series speaker. I've never NOT had people amazaed at the quality and overall package. Just my experience with my clients.

Sonos is only small margin if it's bought through distribution.

Everything is less margin through distribution though. If you sell Sonos on a regular basis, you should not be buying via distribution. If it's a once in a while deal, then deal with the lower margin. I've had to pickup an occasional piece of equipment or parts on Amazon at no margin or basically none to get a job done from time to time. I don't make a habit of it though
