No audio from POS while plugged in to charge. If I leave it unplugged I will hear the directions. Any idea why?

Here's a new one I just discovered, and I have no idea if this is even relevant: check the charging cable to see if it's a charging cable or if it can transfer data. If it can transfer data, maybe somehow the phone is thinking to mute its audio... I dunno. Just a thot. A thot in the dark.
Plugged into "Chevy truck." Chevy truck USB jack? Big Lots car charger plugged into Chevy Truck Cigar Lighter?

If audio isnt playing, its because the USB or bluetooth is connecting to something else. What model of truck?

Plugged into USB port or USB charger? I would bet if it is a USB port then it is trying to send audio that way

Plugged into truck. Not any device between phone and truck. USB makes no connection to radio and USB is not an option as source on radio. So I assume it is charge only. Apple OEM cord.

Plugged into truck. So there's a USB connection built into the accessory stuff inside the truck. Is that right? Or is there a cigar lighter that you plug something into? I don't think we need to know that, but it's really hard to get you to definitively describe what's what, even down to not telling us the model of the truck! You have a problem. It seems like it might be related to the truck. Why is it like pulling teeth to get you to tell us everything you can about the truck? Did you want some answers? So far you've got guesses based on incomplete information.

I didn’t ask you. Says plugged in to charge. I thought I had provided enough at first. Some more questions were asked so I answered. If you need teeth pulled. Consult a dentist. Besides. If someone has experienced a similar issue they would know what I was getting at. I will get a long, very long extension cord. Plug in the phone with Apple charger and start driving to see if I then have navigation audio. That should let me know if it is the truck.

Don't plug the phone into the truck usb, the headunit is reading it as an ipod. So the only way you will hear the prompts is to set your headunit to ipod mode.
You've got 3 choices, use a 3rd party charger so the headunit only sees bluetooth from your phone and never thinks an iPod is connnected.
Check the "Play as Bluetooth phone call" option on the Google Maps app. The problem is the delay between the phone and the headunit which can result in late directions.
Or uncheck the "play voice over bluetooth" option to force the prompts to be played from the speaker on the phone.

Will check Jberger. 3rd party charger test makes sense. You don’t want me to run a long cord? That was to screw with Ernie. However iPod or USB is not an audio option on my truck. 2015 Colorattle. White w/black interior.

White w/black interior. That could be your problem right there. The black interior is causing the audio to mute itself. This is why we need complete information at the start of your thread.

I really don’t care about the color. Although the package could help. In 2016 Chevy started including CarPlay on some vehicles. This is why I asked the model. From my experience, CarPlay is still a half baked feature that often doesn’t fully connect and causes the problem you’ve described. But, since it’s a 2015, that’s not the problem. But still, a built in USB port does connect to the radio. Before 2016, Chevy had what they called MyLink. The option on the radio should be Media. Again though, without the actual package of the truck to know which radio it has, this is only about an 80% guess.
