With the way they are talking about this storm, I just wanted to tell you all, it’s been great knowing everyone, I hope you’ve already found shelter and are hunkered down with plenty of bread and milk. Obviously we are going to lose a lot of people on this one. Good luck, and may God have mercy on your souls.

Yawn, the season's first snow is always the worst storm ever.

The news media is bored with the usual stuff that always seems to be more of the same. "Snow!!!!!" is something fresh for the media to ... er... dig into.

The weather channel showed up in town this morning. We are screwed here. Expecting a 50% survival rate at best. It will be bigger than the 60’s blizzard where they had to drop hay to the cattle by helicopter.

Everywhere. Lubock TX even had 3” this morning. It’s moving east and growing with every commercial break like an evil mythical curse in a Tolkien novel

We've had a ton of snow this season so far. I thought I read 100" so far but I can't find that link. X-mas season around here is usually stupid busy, now it is extra stupid busy.

Found the link, 105" so far:

One of my nieces said

We'll between zero and eighty inches of snow. It may happen, and it may not.

I think she has a real handle on this weather thing.

You guys can have the snow. I hate it. Luckily my drive way now is like 40'X40' so shoveling isn't too bad. The worst was when i rented this house on a corner and i was responsible for the sidewalk all the way around.

As a kid snow meant $. It would start with me and my brother shoveling the walk ways and stair cases for our apartment building. One by one our friends would join us and we would go house to house ringing door bells. $5 per building.

In the summer we washed windows and carried groceries to cars for tips. A bunch of tax dodgers we were! Sticking it to the man!

I've finally reached the age where I can delegate work to my sons...It's a dream come true.

Think the lawn needs mowed.
Garbage needs taken out.
Driveway needs shoveled.
Powerwash the house.
Burn this.

It's fantastic.  All the things I think about doing, I can now do with a simple command, and zero effort on my part.

Do you really want to tell them do so that? You'll need to be far more specific WRT what 'this' is.

In Milwaukee, we have frost, no snow. I expect to hear that nobody survived driving on the freeways- they can't even do that right on dry pavement.

Remember when drivers ed used to be something that was taken very seriously?
Remember when there used to be PSA's on TV about safe driving practices?
Remember when they used to take wrecked cars from accidents and put them on street corners?

Not so much anymore, and it shows!

Its a right, not a privilege these days.

Here in Washington one would think they would be professionals at driving in the rain...….NOT!

Our dogs won’t go out this morning because the snow is too deep. I tried to make my daughter go out to shovel a spot so her maltipoo will go out. But so far I can’t get her out of bed.
