I am looking to find a simple IR repeater system to control my cable box (sci/atl 8300HD) and my Sony compact AV system (DAV-S300). I will be placing these components inside a cabinet on the side of the room approx. 20 ft from the TV (Sharp LC-37gd6u). I am not familier with IR repeaters so I do not want to buy something to complicated nor do I want anything that is big and bulky (trying to keep everything hidden). Any thoughts?

The Xantech 291-Kit would serve your needs at a modest price.

I should have read your post better before responding. If you're trying to keep the IR receiver concealed, you're better off with a Xantech Dinky Link. I'm not sure if it comes in kit form, but if not, just add the 781-RG power supply, a connecting block and however many emitters that you need.
There's other companies who offer similar devices, notably Russound, Niles and Audioplex.
Check their websites.

That was the concern I had with the 291 kit. Thanks for the advice.

Make sure that if you use a dinly link on the LCD, it is the Sunlight friendly model (480B-80).
