I’ve used the velodyne SC- IWDVR before.

We brought out the sound via a routes in the skirting board

I think we did 3 routes stacked one on top of the other which were c. 350mm wide and 20mm tall each with about 10mm between the routes

It was very minimal and when viewed in the context of the whole room was invisible

Snap has an Episode that's 10"x10" or so.

James has toe-kick types of ported subs.

Also, their small-aperture speakers can be had as a sub, which is in-ceiling. If that's too much, Sonance has a version that's a little more affordable, but not *as* slick.

The Triad brings back memories of car audio days of late 80’s and 90’s. KEF had a similar design. Box mounted on trunk and flexible duct routed sound into cabin through the rear deck.

James has similar designs, plus they’re small aperture series of subs. For a more traditional inwall design, the Artisons are great, too.

We pulled a dozen custom made boxes with focal car audio gear from an old steel steam boat. It had been converted to gas at some point and was now being converted to electric.

Mounted two triad ported subwoofers down below and ported them out where two decorative life preservers were mounted. Paired with a dozen small custom triad speakers. Sounded fantastic.

I needed to install a sub in a house where a box just wasn't gonna happen, so I found a woofer that would work in a small enclosure and mounted it in the wall. Then, I bought a Pyle in-wall sub, jettisoned the driver and screwed the grill to the box I built. Works pretty darned well.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

I only used the grill.

Do you want the "woofer"?

The Triad ones work pretty well if you have a space to stash the box.

I have one behind a corner cut fireplace and one strapped up in a crawlspace with the port firing through the floor.

I wouldn't do it in a dedicated media room but for a surround zone in a family room or bedroom they work good.

+1. I think Sunfire has a similar solution.
