Hi all:

Do you guys have any recommendations for a wireless presentation system? Need to be able to connect to both Windows and Mac OSX devices. Only have one TV in the conference room. Would like people to be able to browse to a website indicated on the TV, download necessary software, and display their device on screen wirelessly.

They're your pro series wireless presenters. Lots of integration features and particularly most will play friendly with IT admin security policies.

Having said that, chrome cast kills all of them in terms of video performance and cost. But good luck getting one on a client's corporate network.

Bear in mind, one of the things we come across all the time is client wanting to present wirelessly whilst still being able to access corporate shared folders and network drives etc. That's when things get tricky and you're really at the mercy of the IT administrator there.

Barco Clickshare would be my go to.

Mersive Solstice has come a long way. They now offer digital signage baked in so when you’re not using the TV for presentations you can leave up a message or info and other content.

We have both Apple TVs 4ks and Chromecast's 4ks setup in our office.

All our machines (mixture of OSX and Windows) run Air Parrot [Link: airsquirrels.com] which allows you mirror to either Apple TV or Chromecast

It also allows you to mirror the whole screen, just one programme window etc..

Edit: Missed the Solstice post! That device is cool! Seems to be better since it doesn't require the dongle. Do you have to use the dongle with Barco? It seems like you can't browse to an IP to automatically download the software and display...

Test it out heavily before putting it in for a client. Last time I tried a solution for this type of thing that wasn’t google or Apple, it was only about 75% reliable and didn’t like some laptops.

Will do. How have your clients liked the Chromecast? Have you used it in a conference room setting? Anyone complain that it isn't easy enough to use?

Excellent alternative from BenQ called the InstaShow. Part one plugs into display hdmi.

Part two is a puck sized device with usb and hdmi that plugs in to whatever the computer is. No software needs to be downloaded onto a computer for operation.

Priced well, too.

I stopped selling Barco ClickShare after using this device. Very configurable for just about any network setup.

Connect it to LAN, employees stream to it over corporate WiFi, can access servers etc.

The pods built in WiFi can be setup for guests to just walk in and connect to it. You can either enable or disable internet access to that local WiFi.

On top of being a collaboration device with unlimited “posts” and works with any device, it can be a digital signage screen too.

Nothing on the market now that compares to its features and price.

Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
