LOL 😂

It’s the opposite buddy. People can’t get enough of this shit

People would feed their children lead paint if someone didn't stop them. Its up to us to steer them away from insanity.

Once they fire up the 5g, you gonna wish you had some lead painted walls.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

I can just mount copper rods around the perimeter of my home and then grind up rare minerals into exterior paint to coat everything and keep the langoliers from entering my mind.

It should be copper missile silos. The missiles would be a defense against neighbors and authorities snooping on your property. Or perhaps, in the IOT spirit, they would be "wasp" drones, rather than formal missiles, that race up and "sting" the snoops.

On the subject of neighbors and authorities snooping...If your stuff is connected to the internet...someone can access it.

Every scifi movie shows us humans hacking their way into alien technology...meanwhile...in the real world...most humans cant connect to wifi or install a printer on their own.

Since waves of IOT devices are insecure, maybe we need a "vigilante" network of hackers who track down and "brick" the insecure devices. Eventually, word will get out that the devices are a useless hazard or manufacturers will suddenly have a revelation that the devices need to be secure.

This feels like a lead in to the current political situation.

Wasn't the intent. Populace is so bombarded by media/opinion/commercials that they've become numb and worn down. Ok whatever.

Saw this short recently, very poignant.

It depends on the manufacture and if they are using it as a gimmick. Or as actual useful features.

Imagine putting the pot roast in the oven before you leave in the morning. Then activate the oven remotely 30min before you come home. Dinner ready and hot when you get there. Or the oven sending you a notification that one of the heating elements is out. Automatically setting the clock when power goes out and for DST. Notification the stove top was left on when nothing is detected on top. Etc...

What, are you still using oak and almond in your oven or something??

Ovens have done that for 40 years - "timer start".

Used to be mechanical. My current oven will let me start and turn off automatically (set cook time) or start and stop it while I am away (timer start).

Don't need no IOT appliance.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Yeah, but when your driving home after a long BS CI day, and you can't wait to end it, it helps to preheat the oven when you previously didn't expect to be shoving your head in there.

Hire a pro.
If the ovens hot already, you're NOT going to be able to keep your head in long enough, you've got to do it cold and let it build up gradually.

Low and Slow for proper BBQ.
