Anyone heard from Paul?
Wondering if he's good, since I know he's in the area.

Santa Barbara and Malibu are a ways apart.

Yeah, but these fires are all over the state again, and I thought maybe he worked down that way as well.
I have a friend that's up north, and they're under evac orders.

Didn’t we just do this?
I don’t get why anyone still lives in CA.

Thanks for the concern, but our house isn’t close to any of the current fires. I’m traveling so have been checking news to get updates on the fires. I’ll be back in California on Tuesday.

I don’t get why anyone still lives in CA. Between the mudslides, fires and earthquakes it must be near impossible to get affordable insurance. I know how bad it is here in S. Florida and we can see hurricanes coming 10 days out.

I moved to California to get away from hurricanes and tornadoes and all those natural disasters!

I know how bad it is here in S. Florida and we can see hurricanes coming 10 days out. Been in California over 40 years and recall maybe a half dozen earthquakes I've felt, two of which actually had some considerable shaking. I've yet to experience a mudslide and just recently have been impacted by fires for the first time as I just moved to Thousand Oaks. It's not as bad as it may seem to be out here...

I lived in the state for north of 30 years and only felt a few earthquakes. Luckily I was elsewhere when the big ones hit. We dealt with a bit of smoke in the south bay when Malibu had fires several years ago, but pretty minor. With over 900 miles of coastline, lakes throughout the state, the lowest point in the lower 48, and the highest point in the lower 48 there are no shortage of activities. The winters in LA are pretty mild to boot. Some 40 million people live in the state for some reason or another.

Some 40 million people live in the state for some reason or another. Could 30 million living in sanctuary cities be part of the reason? :-)

Guys, California is a hell hole you'd be crazy to move here. Just leave it to us who already have our slice of paradise. ;)
