Next time a fast food worker starts thinking they want $15 an hour, they might want to watch this and see how close they are to being replaced.

Fast food labor that costs fifteen bucks an hour (some might say per hour*) is all the excuse that's needed to replace fast food workers. It's easy to pay all your fast food workers fifteen bucks an hour, heck, maybe twenty, if you don't have any because their actual jobs have been replaced.

Why don't people see that when wages are raised, the prices of the goods sold to pay those employees have to go up, too... or the jobs eliminated?

But you have a very particular set of skills.

I have an old customer who owns 57 Wendy's.  They've had the kiosks ready for years...they're just waiting for the employees to make the wrong move and they're replaced. They'll replace everything except the actual cooks.

In our area, Little Caesars (Worst pizza ever) just started a kiosk type system.

Let’s not turn this into an economics debate that will end up getting the thread locked. Let’s focus on the technology. It’s a hydrogen powered mobile robotic pizza machine.

I made $10 an hour in 1991 at a hot dog stand. Boss made plenty of money despite paying employees a decent wage. To be fair he didn't have shareholders and a CEO sucking money out of the register.

Pizza from a truck? A Toyota at that?

NO!

One more reason to stay far away from the fast food crap. Besides, I have enough nasty chemicals in my diet.

When I did give them my business, the one thing I refused to do was clean THEIR table.

I was required to go up and place my order, which they rarely got right, stand and wait on it to be thrown on a tray and dropped on the counter, fill my drink by myself, and then they had the nerve to expect me to clean off the table?

Too funny,

The combustion products of hydrogen are carbon dioxide and water. The only way for any of us to stop outputting those two things is for us to die.

When I did give them my business, the one thing I refused to do was clean THEIR table.

Well, the rude person before you left a mess. They (whichever unnamed company this is) expected their customers to be polite and to bus their own selves.

Ah. Just like the people before you.

Near the Los Angeles produce mart area (blocks and blocks of different businesses) we wired up an oyster bar. There were at least two lunch trucks during the say, rotating among different trucks.

One of them was a modified big rig with a short freight container on the back of it. Was that overkill? Nope. It also had a custom Italian pizza oven in the back! It's one of those wood-fired ovens with the little shiny ceramic squares on it, about four feet in diameter. The owner says the rig was necessary because the damn thing is HEAVY.

But running it off the heat of a hydrogen-run engine? Smart.

I might go to Pizza Hut if the one closest to myu house would get rid of that POS they have as manager. The place is always dirty, the staff acts like they're hanging out in an inner city alley, they can't get the orders done in time and the people are very rude. Last time I called in an order, I arrived after they said it would be done because the previous order wasn't done on time. The lobby was filled with people waiting to pick up their orders, none of which were ready and they had a rack full of pizzas, which I assume had been there for quite some time and may not have been tagged correctly. One person checked, then said that after waiting for 20 minutes, they had given up, so they left. Another did the same and we started asking each other when they had called in- most had called in with enough time for the orders to be done, especially since the "dining room' was empty. Even if it had been filled,. they should be able to handle the demand. One couple was there to pick up several pizzas for a group of scouts that were to gather at their home and they left, too. I think 10 of us gave up- that's a lot of lost business.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
