Not possible, due to the 2nd amendment and the NRA. That is why there are no lawsuits and safety challenges at this time to the injuries and deaths caused by guns.
I am arguing that if any product, that does not have the legal protections guns currently have, caused the damage that guns cause, it would be deemed defective based on normal public safety considerations.

You're confused in your use of the word 'defective'. You're saying guns are defective, but you then attribute the defect to the protection allowed gun owners and manufacturers. 'Defective' means "imperfect or faulty" and since nothing is perfect, if a gun operates as intended, it's not faulty. It would seem that you think a gun meets the definition of 'faulty' just by existing.

Yeah, we do. Felons lose rights because the legal/penal system allows taking these rights from them. They're restricted from possessing guns, can't legally vote, can't associate with other felons when they're on parole.......etc.

The instant gratification of a tax cut and very short term boost to the economy does nothing to offset the international laughing stock that Trumps presidency has made of the country. The damage to the respect once afforded the US will take a generation to repair.
You're right- more Americans should look through different eyes, but it's not easy to do. I wonder how a lot of Europeans see themselves when they have been such a burden on other countries.
Or, until the next tragedy where we step in to help, like a tsunami, hurricane, earthquake, etc.

Its been mostly about criticizing those like yourself that are so blinded by one party that they dont see any fault of their own and try to place all blame on the other side. Again, if it were anything but a gun that was not protected by antiquated laws, its design would would be deemed defective and unsafe.
In the years to come, when voters come to their senses, this is how the laws dictating the sale and use of guns will be decided. Just like any thing else we consume.

Hmmm...perhaps, just like drugs, to some folks guns are an addiction. And, as we know, people with an addiction do not think or see clearly. They see and justify only what supports their addiction.
