If someone else set up an amplifi router and the passwords are lost, can I do a reset and start over without having access to the email address that the system was registered with?

Currently there is no way to retrieve a custom password. You can reset the password by resetting the router to the factory default settings.

You can manually reset each device to the factory defaults. Use a straightened paperclip or similar object to press the Reset button located on the bottom of AmpliFi for 3 seconds or until the screen shows rebooting then release.

Found this on the Amplifi site.
If you can't be good, be good at it.

I saw that on their website too. But what it didn’t say was if you needed access to the original email address that registered the account it’s linked to.

The problem was my family rented a house at the beach for a wedding and the rental company didn’t give us the password yesterday. I was considering resetting the router, but I also didn’t want it to send a notice to someone that the router had been reset. LOL

Buy a cheap router and plug it into the modem that the Ampilifi is plugged into.

That was my other option, but it required waiting till the next day to do. I managed to get the password from the rental company. My kids just had to service one night without WiFi.

Short answer is it’s like Eero with an app controller for setup

Good speeds and range?
Any issues with handovers?

My boss has it and really likes it, no issues. I haven’t tried it personally enough to say for sure. It is from UBNT, so I’ve been reluctant to try it because my understanding is they still don’t offer phone tech support.
