My son’s only extracurricular activity is scouts. And it’s the time of year his pack does their one fund raiser. Hes trying to hit his goal so his den gets to have an ice cream party. Since I don’t have an office full of coworkers like most of the other parents, I thought I’d ask you all, if you have a craving for popcorn (it is really good popcorn) or want to send a gift to the military, to consider buying it through my son. We are trying to take the pack to space camp in November.

Thanks for letting me make this plug for scouting.

Edit: I just noticed they have added an option for supporting the Hurricane victims too.

My grandmother was the candy/popcorn etc sales person. We always played football/baseball and we always had to sell candy or something. My grandmother would sell out in a day. She worked for the City of Chicago board of health. They had 100+ employees plus hundreds of patients.

I remember hustling candy bars at the mall like it was yesterday. Hard work for a kid. Because of that i always buy whatever they are selling. These days i tell them to keep the candy.

Keep the candy!?!
I love those things.
Carmel and wafer ones are what I order by the dozens.

Yeah well, unlike some of us, your waist size is still a smaller number than your inseam

I'm about one box of candy away from my waist size being twice that of my inseam.

The local Scouts park their tables at the entrance of the grocery store and I bought a can of their crack. Yeah, I called it 'crack'.

A friend was in scouting with his son and doesn't care what they're selling- he's buying. I do the same when it's a few organizations- Fire/Police, Scouts and Military.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

Now that the candy bars have gone to about half size, I have to buy two at a time.

It's a good thing they're not pushing them every day. :-)

Our council doesn’t allow setting up boths like that. We are trying to change it.

OK, but give people a way to go in/out without having to say "Sorry, no" to the kids- some people actually need to get in and out quickly and it's not easy to say No without feeling bad. Well, for some of us, anyway.

Mmmmm Girl Scout peanut butter patties...
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I was coming out of Home Depot a couple of weeks ago, and they were set up outside the door.   Like a lot of folks, I rarely carry cash anymore.  My wife and I have had conversations about how much better the scouts would do if they took credit cards.

I commented, "Sorry buddy, I don't have any cash".  He said,"That's ok, I can take your credit card".

Next thing you know, I'm buying $12 bags of popcorn.

Just completed the order for your boy.

I’ll have those in about 2 months. How many boxes do you want?
