We are setting up a Home Theatre system and cant's see the SR6012 setup UI on the screen. The TV is a Sony Bravia 75" 4K and the input is HDMI 1. When the amp turns on, it shows "Setup on TV" on the front panel. Unfortunately, one of my installers threw the original remote out so we are using a URC remote to control. Power On and Off work from the URC so I'm sure we have the right codeset. I have done a factory default, made sure the sound mode is not " pure direct"...The sources show up on the TV just not the setup UI.

Scratching my head here. Any help would be appreciated

Are you getting any sources to feed through the receiver?

Try a reset again, or a different hdmi cable to the TV...

Turn off the power using Power Button .
Press Power Button while simultaneously pressing M-DAX and ZONE2 SOURCE.
Remove your fingers from the two buttons when “Initialized” appears on the display.
If you can't be good, be good at it.

Odd for sure. So you’re saying the volume graphic shows and each source change shows on screen? Makes no sense you don’t see the setup screen, unless you simply don’t have the setup command in the URC remote.

From defaulted micro, plugging in the mic should get The Audyssey setup to show instantly. Actually from full default, turning the unit on would put it into the automated end user setup... you should be skipping this version of setup. Be sure you’re defaulting the unit with “d-max and zone 2 source”.

You could try the network setup.

Depending on your code set, some older models used a different code for menu/setup.

Short leashed another HDMI cable. Same issue....can see the source but no setup UI

Tell your installer to go and find a remote, then make it very clear that he is never to throw ANY accessories away, even if someone says it's OK.

Then, get everyone together so you can all RTFM.

This is on the Marantz web page, for that model-

"External Control Capabilities-

The SR6012 has a range of features to provide enhanced control and compatibility with 3rd party and custom integration solutions. For compatibility with other components there's a remote control input and output on the rear panel, along with a flasher input and a 12V trigger output, while for direct connection to external home automation and control equipment, there's an RS-232C serial port. The SR6012 can be set up and operated by a home computer via network IP control (via wired LAN or Wi-Fi), and also features Crestron Connected and Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) for quick and easy integration with home automation equipment."

You'll never know what's missing from the URC command set until you compare it to the original remote, said to be available here: [Link: amazon.com] for the low low price of sixty bucks.

I've seen a lot of things thrown out during an install, but never a remote control. I bet whoever's going to pay for this won't EVER allow another remote to be tossed!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Did the installer throw the box away, unaware all the things still inside it?

Otherwise, he willfully threw property away that was not his. Unless it ended up in his pockets and is now on Amazon for $60. Look for a listing for a Marantz mic as well?

While figuring out the Marantz setup issue, I would be keeping a close eye on this installer. To figure out if he was just careless, stupid, or a thief. None of those selections are acceptable but the punishment gets increasingly severe from just a write up to an instant termination.

I know of an installer who took the cardboard out of a job, popped it in the van and drove back to home base... where he threw it all in a bin, poured on the lighter fluid and burnt it all.

If only he'd taken the speakers out of their boxes first, no one would have been upset.
Alas...
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

Use the Menu button instead of the Setup button. Ask me how I know...

The newer app for both D,&M work well for setup too for what it’s worth.

I want them to return the network setup function with computer. That was much faster and it didn't matter if the OEM remote was missing.

What made him think it was OK to burn the trash?
