I asked at Digital home but I'm not sure how much traffic that site gets anymore, so I thought I'd ask here.
The HDD kakaked in one of my 9241s so I bought a used one as a replacement. I set the remote address (?) as 1 (it was set to 8) & it works fine with IR, but doesn't respond to UHF.
The remote that came with it doesn't have the IR/UHF thing at the bottom of the remote so I tried it with 2 others that have it. Both control it by IR, but not with UHF.
The 9241 came with the UHF antenna.
Any ideas?

All the Dish network boxes I've done only did IR OR RF. if you wanted RF, you had to go into the menu system and set it to RF where you get to choose something like 1 of 199 RF Frequencies.

Nor Familiar with Bell, but VIP722 is a Dish network model I recognize.

Like Impaqt said, that's a Dish number. If it is Dish, they also had TWO versions of their UHF. UHF and UHF"PRO", which if memory serves, are not compatible.

Hmm... I don't remember seeing anything in the menu about selecting UHF, only the remote address. I'll take another look.
It was odd that the remote that came with it didn't have the thing you flip over at the bottom of the remote. Can you tell which version UHF it is, perhaps by the model or serial number? I didn't get the manual with it.

its actually a service menu where you set the RF stuff. Not the standard menu system. Instructions and manuals are readily available online.

RF was optional back inthe day.. might still be. Very common to see non RF remotes.

Thanks Impaqt.
This is what I found on the internet that worked:
Configure receiver to use UHF remote:
Press and hold the SAT button on the remote until all lights flash red for the device selects across the top and the SAT button flashes. Press RECORD button 3 times, I was on the System Info screen and see that box 'i' displaying the remote type changes to IR/UHF Pro Band B/Rem Addr 14.
