A few sites that I regularly read have started using floating or sticky ads, (cepro being one for example). Does anyone know of an app that will block these ads? The built in ad blocker doesn’t do it

Look in your Privacy settings- scroll to the bottom and you should see Analytics and Advertising. Click on Advertising so you can limit ad tracking and reset the advertising identifier.

That doesn’t look like it will actually block the ads though. It only stops them from targeting your interests.

while you're at your home on your wifi, you can use adreetime.com  I've used it for years. Works perfectly  $1.99 per month.  It'll block ads on all devices on the network.

If you need something while you're outside the home, I can't help..

Update to this. This morning I decided to just try a a couple apps and see how they work. I downloaded Norton on my phone and AdBlocker on my ipad. Both are working to stop ads.

You could get and set up a Pi-hole on your network, and if you have or are willing to set up a VPN on your home/work network, use it for your DNS which will filter most of what you ask.

I use Ghostery which works reasonably well for browsing non-work related stuff on my Iphone.  Safari is still my go to for work related login stuff.

The new update is a little wonky, but click the address bar then the star to find your bookmarks.
