Do you mean to integrate or mounting and installing?

Integrating them, Fins. Shades have been installed. We had this dropped onto our laps. Designer purchased them and had them installed but had no clue how to setup or integrate them into our Crestron system.

I researched this earlier in the year, but didn't get involved in the project.

Somfy has a plugin WiFi device called myLink for app control.  There's a Crestron driver (or at least protocol documentation) available on the Somfy website.

Don't know how well it works, but here's a link to get you started:

Does the MyLink work better than the urtsiII

My experience is with Control4 rather than Crestron. With that being said, Somfy is one of the easier shade brands to integrate. Fins, if you ask me, I like the myLink better than the URTSiII.

I’ve integrated the URTSiII several times with elan and found them to have range issues and sometimes either it or the blind to lose programming. I’ve got a Q-Motion project coming up in the spring. I’m eager to compare the two.

I guess I didn't explain myself too well, sorry. I'm interested in finding out how to set up the roller shade ids. There are 24 shades in total. The designer installed them and there was this in the box. I presume it's just the power supply.

OK, in the big box, in the lower left corner is a URTSiII. That’s the RS232 to RF interface. They have the range RF range of children’s walkie talkies from the dollar store. So that metal box is an awesome place for it. The way it works is you put it in programming mode then set the dial on the back for an ID then copy from the RF remote. Once they are all done, you take the URTSiII out of programming mode and set the same dial to the ID for the URTSIII to be on (you can have multiple URTSiII on the same system). Then configure your driver.

I don’t remember how exactly to copy the programming from the remote to the URTSiII. It’s something like hold th program button on the URTSiII then press the remote button. Last time I did it, I had to call Somfy tech support. They were really good and friendly. No attitudes. You might google URTSiII programming and find a white paper from somfy. At one time I had one, but I have no idea where it is now. The process is pretty simple though, as long as the installer programmed RF remotes.

Btw, how many shades are on this job? Looking at those photos, the power is wired up totally wrong. Power should run through those connecting blocks, with each shade wired to a green Phoenix connector, and fused.

There are 24 shades. We haven’t wired in the shades yet. What you’re seeing is the 120 chords to the power supplies.

Yeah we use Somfy with C4 and Fins is right about the URTSii - take it out of that metal can, if possible.

The lower of the 2 power supplies looks like it isn't grounded - just to the box, not to the house ground. Is that usual?

Do others use barrier blocks for line voltage?

I know the shade guys installed this.

You are correct, the wiring is wrong. Totally screwed up a simple ground connection LOL!
I hope the covers are nearby, those have to go on to be compliant. Which also means the electrical wiring has to be redone anyway, since it has to be pulled back and put thru a proper knockout with bushings.

I highly doubt the installers who put the shades in did 'any' remote programming at all. I would be willing to bet that some of the shades are going to need to be remounted as well. Because they did a 1/2 arse job. It was Joe & Bob for $10 an hour as quick as they could.

I say that from a very similar experience. Had a customer get some Somfy shades from an interior decorator, then the decorator had some handyman idiots put them in for the customer. These were battery powered ones. Several shades wouldn't work correctly (the RF range is pretty bad) and one of the shades fell out of the window and busted. Really crappy workmanship.
Customer just had me fix what was there; no integration done.

It will be going elsewhere. It was in the can to show what we were given
