Well, we are installing a Denon Heos Drive as an upgrade from the Niles piece, replacing all inwall and inceiling speakers and installating the Rotel equipment. I am gonna run a feed from the Rotel system to the heos and back again. Should work out well.

Sorry to jump on this thread late, but I would echo what everyone else is stating. I would not try and use older Bose speakers with anything other than the engineered solution Bose came up with. If it is 10 years old, and he wanted to upgrade any part of the system that is responsible for powering the speakers, do not do it. The Bose system is just that.. a system, and it is not going to end up well for anyone when part of that system is altered without consideration to the rest of the chain.
SoundTouch, which is Bose's networked multiroom solution, like Heos or Sonos is a great solution for the rest of the house. Using the SA-5 amp instead of the HEOS drive, would give 40 more watts per channel (SA5 is 100 watts x 2 and 4ohm stable) per room and save the customer about $500 for a 4 zone system. SoundTouch can also be controlled over IP with a third party remote like RTI, URC, or Control4.
