Remember when you were young and and you and your friends would get drunk every weekend and pull your dicks out at parties trying to make people touch it? Now we are talking about a machine that keeps us from dying in our sleep.

We’ve turned into the old men that I remember seeing hang out at the local store all day talking about the weather and their sciatica.

Apnea deprives the brain of oxygen. Sound like you had it when you were young too.

Crazy how many of us have this. Maybe it's caused by HDMI

In my case, it did not cause sleep apnea. In my case I lost all my hair. Well, actually, I didn’t lose it. I tore it out, one chunk every working day.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I don't mean to be combative, I know you have only good intentions in posting that, but that guy is a quack chiropractor giving advice that can kill people. I've got severe apnea too so I don't like guys like this misleading people.

1. Apnea is not a vitamin B1 deficiency, and taking B1 won't help, if it would real doctors would treat it that way.

2. The apnea he is describing is central apnea, which is much less common than obstructive apnea, and even more dangerous. I don't think he even knows the difference. Central apnea is when your brain doesn't signal your body to keep breathing.

Apnea, whether obstructive or central, is a very serious condition and when it's severe must be treated with a cpap (or bipap etc.) machine. The main other thing that *may* improve it is losing weight. However even skinny people can have apnea, so losing weight is not a guarantee.

Excessive weight is often a contributing factor to apnea, though there's actually some evidence that it may also works in reverse as well, since apnea can cause exhaustion, less activity, and therefore weight gain. By the same token, treating apnea may result in some weight loss as a person gets more energy, or at a minimum make it easier to take the steps needed to lose weight.

Apnea affects estimated 22 million Americans. That's almost 10%

What prompted my issue is that I got kicked out of jury duty for falling asleep. It wasn't my fault, I had gone to be early, and felt fine. Also, like others mentioned, terrible feeling of falling asleep when you are driving. Sleep study indicated 210 episodes an hour. That is absolutely crazy. Since then I feel so much better. If you have headaches, exhaustion, and snoring symptoms, especially limited attention span, go for a sleep study. It could save your life.

I had my first night at home with the CPAP last night. I thought I fought that damn mask all night and never slept, but I feel rested this morning, for maybe the first time in my life.
