They no longer have any codes listed.  They have the hex converter still on the site but no codes to convert.

It looks like the 80 series codes aren't listed yet. I would bet that the 70 series codes will still work.

I tried codes from a year or so ago's model that I got from a pdf I had saved sometime previously.  It did not work.  I was trying to just get an IR code for All Channel Stereo.  Had a client's AVR go out in a lightning storm.  Very basic system with just a cable box, BDP and sonos feeding the AVR, and a MX890.  I had everything else I needed but no all channel stereo for Sonos use.  This was just a lowly RX-A680.

BTW, you are correct.  I just checked and only the x80series do not have codes.  I was in a rush and didn't think to check previous years models.  It does appear though that the new series may have new codes as the ones I tried that usually worked on previous models did not work today.

I hope they didn't change the codes that didn't need changing. There are a few commands that may be 20 years old for the stereo receivers.
I'm basically retired now, but I still do a little consulting and programming. I was told that Yamaha changed the GUI, but I was hoping they had left the codes alone.

Well most codes worked, but I used a codeset labeled for the x80 series in CCP. I didn't look to see if th codeset number is different though.

I observed something in the early 2000s that was pretty nuts, pretty funny, and cheap on Yamaha's part.

They had several remote controls that used the same codes. But no, that's not what I mean. I mean that the particular source buttons, say second row down, second from the left, was always the same command.

But if that button was labeled CD on one receiver and that button was labeled CDR (back then) on a different receiver, then the code behind that button gave you what the label said.

In other words, a group of commands were tied to sources by their position on the remote instead of a particular command always giving you the same source. This also explains why, if you have the extended codes, the surround codes for one model might not give you the surround you want, but another command might.

Try the codes in the file from a different remote and see what they do instead of stopping at "the bla bla button doesn't switch to bla bla."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I would be careful of testing each button, to find what it does- not being argumentative, but because it could cause the volume to go WOT, like a Denon AVR I was working with when I unblocked all codes in an URC remote and pressed the 1 button on the number areas of the keypad.

WRT the Yamaha, did you check to find out if the remote and receiver are set to IR1 or IR2?

Over the years I've seen A LOT of the Yamaha codes, and the only ones I've seen that might behave that way are volume preset recalls. Those require multiple button presses in a particular order to make a volume preset, so they are unlikely to be a problem.

Also, I was saying that sources may be different from tbose named. Preset recall is in an entirely different section of commands, which have been called Extended Commands.
