So, I was totally unimpressed by just about every aspect of the Apple Event today except for two things.
First, the new iPhone will have 512GB of storage, which is mind boggling. A 1/2 TB in a phone. Crazy..
The other thing that I thought was really cool, and could be really useful for CI's.
What they're calling DSDS (Double SIM Double Standby). You can now have two different phone numbers on the same phone. I know in the past we've had a lot of different conversations about the best ways to deal with running a business on a mobile device, this is obviously the answer...I have no idea how it's billed.
The new watch can perform an FDA approved ECG (ElectroCardiogram)...I guess that's showing Apple's age? I have no interest.

The ECG feature is not new or exclusive to Apple. A few companies announced similar smart watches at CES, earlier this year.
I have a Fitbit HR right now that does heart rate. But Fitbit's app really sucks. And the device really doesn't do the best job at tracking my heart rate or getting my sleep cycles right. I've been looking at the new ASUS smart watch that will do blood pressure. But I have no idea when it will come to the US. It's the only thing I use these smart watch like devices for, medical! I have no need for it to do text, email, phone calls, or anything else beyond medical purposes.

Note9 has to 512gb internal and an additional 512gb available via sim card. Also available with dual SIM. Apple is behind again.

I also heard Samsung is coming out with a foldable phone this year... Personally, I think that's the 3D/Curved screen of phones, but technologically I want to see it.

Had no idea. I also heard Samsung is coming out with a foldable phone this year. Years ago we had phones that flipped open. FINALLY they're coming out with one that flips closed! It's about friggin' time!

none of those watches come even close to the fit, finish, and performance of the apple watch. There also in no other consumer product that has received FDA approval either as a ECG or Afib detection. Yes there are health companies that might have products for consumers but none from a consumer products company. There have been numerous reports of the Apple watch saving peoples lives, and that was before adding the electrical probes for ECG and Afib readings. You could do it with the older watches with the Kardia Band: [Link: alivecor.com]

I had no idea so many people were concerned about what their heart was doing at any given moment.
I think I'll go eat some biscuits and gravy. :)
