That makes absolutely no sense at all.
It IS why every State has two Senators.
Ponder.
Perhaps a civics lesson is in order?

Not needed. we ( the people) elect the president indirectly. We use a series of rotating people in the electoral college to do it.Otherwise smaller states would get swamped by others. Last time I checked, senators did not elect the president.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I guess you can't fix stupid.

First, who said Senators elect the President? I brought it up to help you visualize just how dumb you are. As in: Two Senators for each State - no matter what the population of the State is. Which means smaller States don't get "swamped" by others (in Senate representation). That is the argument you are trying to make about the Electoral College. But the larger the State's population, the more Electoral votes it has*. Same as with the amount of Congressmen - which is exactly the opposite of what you're trying to claim. Civics, such a bitch.

*Your mileage may vary. Does not apply to Maine and Nebraska

Why are you acting is such a harsh demeaning tone? Do you act this way with your customers?
I understand the numbers of the electoral college and the senate . My point was the founders of this nation created the process to protect smaller states. The electoral vote of a smaller state has a bit more power than the population of the state.

My harsh demeaning tone is my frustration with my trying to get you to understand something that should be easier to grasp than how a toaster works. I'm giving up because you're just doubling down and digging deeper into your misunderstanding of how math works. Just look at your last sentence above. It is completely and demonstrably false.

In reality, the biggest difference between small States and large States is that the larger States tend to have larger economies and pay more Federal Income Taxes. These taxes get redistributed to those smaller States so the populations in those States end up receiving more than the pay. In other words, the bigger and more prosperous States (Like New York where I live) SUBSIDIZE the smaller States. There's a word for this... I'm thinking... applies to Social Security and Medicare, the Public School System... on the tip of my tongue... Fire and Police Departments... Oh, yes, now I remember the word: Socialism!

David, why do you oppose the electoral college? I'm getting the impression you don't understand how it works or why it is the way it is. Yes, yes, I see the intent is to strew us into believing its purpose is racism. Maybe it was or wasn't at one time, but today its NOT racist and it serves a purpose. One of which is to keep bozo's from New York and California from having the stop-dead say on who our president should be. But, of course, the left is not really about being fair, more about doing what it takes to get their way. Ya, we all get that. Fortunately there is an electoral college to prevent that from happening. Thank God or SOMETHING for that!

This will be my last attempt.

Can we either close this thread (a shame, because there was an actual topic/question and answer going on for a while...) or move it to a "AV guys who think arguing on the internet actually solves anything or changes peoples minds" thread?

I'd prefer a really brave act: moderator(s) deleting comments that don't have to do with the technical electronic audio/video topic (and probable arguments). Chop out the chaff and leave us with the subject.

Of course, many people will hate that and will cry FIRST AMENDMENT not remembering DON'T BE A DUMBASS and STICK TO THE SUBJECT and THIS SITE IS PRIVATELY OWNED and WE ARE ALLOWED TO USE THROUGH THE GOOD GRACES OF A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL WHO CAN EXERCISE HIS RIGHTS, TOO!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Paul Simon: “Man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest.“

Everyone’s opinion of what is right or wrong, true or false, etc. etc., depends on their political/religious leanings. I admit it. Will you?

Paul Simon understood 50 years ago that facts don’t make a difference.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Is this related to the “color gamut” we were speaking of at the beginning of the thread?

Are we witnessing an evolutionary step in Godwin's Law before our very eyes? Is it now that someone will inevitably derail a conversation by bringing up Hillary Clinton? Which, should equal an instant loss of argument just like the rule in the original iteration of Godwin's Law?

Because not a good*mn bit of that had anything to do with 8K

“Comparison is the thief of joy”.

I used to think that my 60 inch Panasonic ZT-series plasma still made a good picture that held up to most everything currently built. Then last year I bought a 65X940E for my father-in-law, and burned it in on the floor beneath my wall-mounted plasma. The Sony is dramatically better in every way with streaming 4K, Xfinity cable, 1080p BluRay, and PS4 gaming content.

Hard pressed to beat the 940e. And with the price job as its disco'd to half price, NOTHING beats it. Hands down. Picked up four more in the last week. One (maybe two!) i kept for myself.

I believe it's known as the Benghazi Rule.
