Preferably nightstand size.

USB to charge phones or tablets but also can play music through USB for those devices. Bluetooth pairing for music playing too

Bonus if has a clock display and I guess alarm clock ability (most would use phone for alarm though)

Portability and or battery powered is not necessary at all

I can google it but looking for anyone's personal experience

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

I would think a trip to Best Buy or Walmart would be your best bet. Plus you can return if you don’t like it. And you can be entertained or sickened by the sites in those places.

I have had, and given to family, 3 Sony SRS-XB models. Liked the sound quality over other brands. The upper models will charge devices via USB. Bluetooth connection is a breeze. Haven't found one with a clock function but I use my phone or ask Alexa for the time. Lazy that way in the middle of the night.
They won't play ultra loud though.

Maybe this, then: [Link: androidpolice.com]
Harman-Kardon Citation 500.

Says [Link: androidcentral.com]:
this will be one of the most expensive Google Assistant-enabled devices to date, offering 200W stereo speakers and the ability to support 24Bit/96Khz High Definition audio streaming.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
