Anyone integrate these into third party controllers yet? Seems to come with some sort of point free remote with voice control. Not sure about the model number but they’ve used scientific atlanta boxes in the past.

I have not used one but apparently Rogers Ignite is using the same hardware & software as Comcast X1 so you could start researching there. X1 has been around for a while.

I just found out that it's the same as Comcast Xi6. Can anyone confirm that this has IR control capability and receiver window? Is there some sort of IP driver compatible with RTI? Is it possible to capture IR commands from the stock remote somehow?

I had a chance quickly before I get my kid from school, to buzz over to my neighbours house. They just got Rogers Ignite.

I took my Procontrol Pro24r and my computer with me and found that the Xfinity X1 codes work on their Rogers Ignite box using IR from the Pro24r remote. I only had time to test the 1,2, and 3 buttons. But I imagine the others would work.

Their box says Xi6a on the bottom.

Craig.

You’re right Comcast does work thanks. It looks like these are not going to be an issue with integration except for voice control. Seems like the boxes stay on all the time too.

Yes it appears to me as well that we won’t have trouble integrating them. I’m glad you brought this up because I had meant to go next-door and do some experimenting for my own knowledge. This gave me a good reason.

Any idea if the original remote is Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi capable? I’m wondering about when I hide the box in a rack whether the user can still keep it on hand for the voice control, and how far reaching its capabilities will be?

Just following and hoping for some insight. I am new to the RTI platform in general. I have a client who has Cox service here in Phoenix. Currently they are trying to run RTI to control the Cox Cable boxes, which I believe are Xi6 by Arris. I am currently having trouble controlling the boxes. Should I try loading Comcast/Xfinity codes for IR to work? Thanks in advance.

I believe the original remote has its own RF channel. You need to keep it local. If you try to put it in a rack down the hallway, it will have trouble connecting, and you will be feeling sorry.

Tom, that post is 4 years old, I hope they already figured that out by now.
