That would have had a totally different meaning.

I believe it was respectful of me to reply to what he had asked. So I guess, yeah, maybe it WAS disrespectful of you not to reply to what he had asked, but instead to ask him why it was a question at all.

Let's ask Westom!

I replied to YOUR post, not his. To be honest, I replied to your post a day after I had read the other comments, so I didn't remember that someone had mentioned ports, but your question about who changed the ports makes it seem that you think it's a likely cause. My question is pretty bland, if you look at it- there was nothing in it that questioned anyone's intelligence and it only had one question mark. If I had used several, THAT would have been disrespectful.

We could get Wesley Mullings involved, too. That would be an interesting debate.

It didn't occur to me that you were addressing me, so I thought you were asking a question about what he had said. From misunderstandings like this, WWI was started. (Well, there was an assassination in the mix, too.)
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

SOLVED. And now there's a new problem, described at [Link: remotecentral.com].

The problem in this thread wasn't actually a gmail problem. I have a shortcut on my desktop that opens several websites at once, and google had changed the address of one of them, so the process just ground to a halt.

How could you not think I was addressing you when your post was quoted in my reply?

WWI was NOT caused by a misunderstanding.
