What do you use to secure HDBASET receivers, network switches, control system I/O hardware etc to the back of TVs ?
We sometimes use double sided tape but it can be hit or miss and about 10% the item falls off
Most of the time there isn’t anything to zip tie to
I’ve also seen some metal cable tray / breadboards that fit between the vesa mount and the tv but not used one myself

I second the velcro, we use articulating brackets that have a bar top and bottom, stretch velcro with two stands and attach anything

The Velcro adhesive fails, just like tape.

Not this one [Link: amazon.com]I use it and generally trust it, but sometimes if there is heat, the adhesive seems to soften. Have seen it come loose. If I have a mount, I use 12” zip ties to the brackets on the TV.

Not this one My bet is that you peeled it back and stuck it on. This is not enough. Some searching found the following notes. I added the highlighting. Clean and dry surface before application. You can use any cleaner that will not leave a film or oily surface. We recommend using alcohol prep pads. Peel tape from fastener and press firmly into place. Adhesive reaches maximum strength after 24 hours. The best method to remove VELCRO® brand adhesive-backed products is to use a citrus-based adhesive remover. Be sure to read the instructions on the adhesive remover carefully.
Note: Not recommended for fabrics, dashboards, flexible vinyl, or underwater use. Continued exposure to full sunlight can damage fastener. A video I found of a guy mounting solar panels to the top of his van using Velcro starts with him advising to always clean the mounting surface with denatured alcohol. That's an echo of the instructions above.

Good point, Ernie. Clean the surface before using any adhesive.
I would still prefer zip ties to the mount, a recessed box, or zip ties to a ~2' length of punched aluminum mounted between the mount and TV (articulated mounts).

Snap makes a piece that attaches to TV mount and gives you plenty of room to mount whatever.
