I assume when you say you changed the RFID on the bottom of the 350 that you changed it in the software as well to match?

I did, but thanks for checking on that. Would have been something dumb like that I missed.

For the old remotes, give this a try:

I might try that next. 😁

you can still use the old software with current remotes. Just put it in boot loader mode.

You know, I've tried that on 4 different remotes and it hasn't worked once. Has anyone actually had this work with a recent production MX-900?

I guess I have not tried it recently.... next time I have a 900 on my desk I'll check though.

What is bootloader mode? I've heard the term, but when I look it up the definition makes no sense vis-a-vis remote controls.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

it's supposedly a method you can use to program a new (for example) MX 900 with legacy editor software. If you try to program a new MX 900 with legacy software without putting the remote into bootloader mode you will get an SC-1 error code and will not be able to go forward. I think you hold down Watch and Pause until the Loader appears on the panel. You should Google the proper keys. I may be mistaken.

In my experience, the bootloader mode does not work. URC even lists this as a method to try. Didn't work for me with 4 different remotes.

I was not even close on the buttons:

"1.Open up battery compartment & remove 1 battery from cup.
2.Press & hold the "On" & "Mute" buttons simultaneously. While pressing both buttons, reinsert the 4th battery into the cup. You should get a blue screen with the word "Loader" on the page heading.
3.Download your programming to the remote. If you get an eror message pertaining to the USB connection, ignore it, as your file should have down-loaded successfully. If not, run the boot loader procedure again."

I'm thinking the 350 might be bad. Now I'm getting continuous IR output, as shown by the small red LED on the emitter even when I'm not pressing a button on the remote and the 250 is not showing any RF signal coming in. This is not on all output channels, but at least one.

Yeah, we've all been working on the assumption that the equipment itself is good. That's almost always the case, but a bad 350 would explain just about everything here!

Make sure all the 3.5mm plugs are completely plugged in. If they are not, some wonky things can happen. Just something else to try.

I checked that, but thanks.

The new 350 seems to have worked. I had to adjust the output on the Tivos, 1 up, 1 down.

Now I can't seem to get the Rocketfish HDMI switcher to switch. It works with IR, but not with just RF.

Getting closer.

Thanks again for all the help. Sorry about the bad part. Hard to fix a problem with methods when the issue is hardware.
