I have a project where we replaced an Autonomics MMS-5a with an MMS-5e. The MMS-5e doesn't support the slideshow. We were using the slideshow feature to show artwork on a television. Now we cant do that.

I am looking for a stand alone box to be our Slideshow source. Does this product exist?

HD/HDMI output

Discrete Play command or just automatically/continuously shuffles artwork.

Easy to load images to.

Brightsign?
What do you mean you wanted it on the other wall - couldn't you have mentioned this when we prewired?

USB port on the TV?? If a commercial display, usually once the USB port is selected, it auto plays the files.

We put a handful of these in some model homes a couple months ago, [Link: amazon.com] four out of four are working perfectly. Only bummer is it doesn’t scale portrait photos, it stretches them instead.

Can this thing be setup to just loop photos forever? My goal is to connect it to an HDMI port on the switch and have it work until it dies.

Ordered 2 different brightsign models. I also ordered the player you linked to as a Plan B.

We ordered the $250 and $500 (amazon) model. Three reviews all say it has no instructions or necessary parts like the SD card. Sounds like i am going to have a fun Monday.

You need an SD card for the players. Pick up any Class 10 SD card from staples, etc. I usually get the 16Gb, just in case the extra storage is needed.

First go around will be tough, but once you get the hang of it, dead simple.

Is there a NAS or something that holds all the pictures or are you planning on loading them directly on the player?? If NAS, much simpler because you'll just point to the share with the pics.

If loading directly, you need to find out how much storage you need for the pics.

Got the gear in today. I tried the cheap one first. Models: LS423. SD card was 128GB. I found the IP address...was walked through setup. Had to guess a couple of things (because there is no manual) but made it through in a couple minutes. At first i loaded a couple images directly to the SD via the web utility. I had to format the SD card using the web utility. The images transitioned too quickly and i couldnt find a way to slow them down so i downloaded the BrightAuthor software.

The software had to be installed as administrator and i had to ignore the security warning. Again i had to guess a couple of things but minutes later i had a published project. I copied the published files from my computer to the SD card and i was in business.

I disconnected the ethernet cable before i left today. I assume i dont need it? Should just run standalone without it. I guess i will find out tomorrow :).

It has a bunch of features i wont ever touch but one i thought was cool was when you import your images they can automatically be resized to HD right in the BrightAuthor app.

I don't do Apple, but wouldn't ATV do what you want?

Every time I touch an Apple product I have to click through updates and sign ins and I'm just tired of it. I wouldn't trust an Apple product for this application because I need something that works like music on hold. It just needs to run forever.

Until it craps the bed, yes- sorry for the latent response! Glad to read you got the BS up and running!
