Hi everyone.
I have a client with 10 Years old Crestron system that was installed by a company the is now gone.
I have taken this job as to lean up and update this system.
I have installed whole new WiFi access points (no problem there )

new one of ML-600 remote no longer sending signal to the Crestron controller.
there is CNRFGWA that is connected to Crestron controller.
the remote is not sending a signal to the gaetway and I know this by using another ML-600 and see the signal light comes on on the gateway.

My question is, is there a way to by a new ML-600 and copy the code from the old one or any other solution with a other brand remote.

your help greatly appreciated

iI its a 433 gateway you can use an RTI T1B OR T2i and load crestron RF codeset into it. it will need programming both in RTIs Integration Designer Software and in Crestron Simpl.

This assumes you have access to the un-compiled Simpl program files.

If the gateway is 418 then there were some URC remotes that can also be programmed with Crestron RF codes, although I seem to remember there were some join numbers that needed to be avoided with the URC solution.

I have done many, many RTI remotes with Crestron (as the ML 500/600 solutions from crestron were simply terrible!), and two systems with the URC.

All have been rock solid until the remotes finally die!
What do you mean you wanted it on the other wall - couldn't you have mentioned this when we prewired?

You could try connecting to the remote via toolbox. Not sure if there i an extract feature for it. Call crestron support.

Ebay has 2 new ML-600's for $20. [Link: ebay.com]

Thank you Nick,
The problem is the original company no longer in business and they never supply the codes to clients.

Question for Mac, I have the Crestron toolbox how ever, I can't find the cable that connects to the remote. Also, not sure if the codes stored in the remote at all.
I think the processor is where the code is located, not sure.

The cable is a '3.5 mm TRS mini phone plug to DB9 female" like this [Link: amazon.com]

It has been a long time but i think that the remote just gets the text labels for the soft buttons at the top and the programming is stored on the processor. You also have to set the remotes ID.

What kind of system do you have? It might be worth it to have it reprogrammed so that you have access to the programming code. On the other hand 10 years is a long time. Might be time to upgrade.

Thank you Mac,
Have the cable on ordered should be here tomorrow.
I will try using the toolbox and see what I can find there.

Where would I find the software to program the RTIs or URC?

The client just wants to turn on the TV with only cable channels, No other inputs needed.

Maybe Nick can help with the programing, be happy to pay for your time.

The ID is fine and it shows up in toolbox as well.
The problem is the remote not communicating with gateway.
