Man, seems like I just don't sell bookshelves any more but now I need a suggestion for a stereo pair used primarily with music.

Tired of hype reviews and getting uneven, messy sound. Which manufacturer got lucky and managed to make a pair that are just enjoyable to listen to in this price range??

If you are a dealer, the RBH SV-61 is in your price range and is a solid option.

Kef Q350 (Grilles sold separately) with a good amplifier. Add a sub for more dimension.

If you're a kef dealer, their accomodation program is top notch and will get you a super nice pair in that range.

Assuming these are for you, what speakers have you listened to lately, that sounded great and may have impressed you?

This is one of the first questions I ask customers- if the answer is "Nothing, because I haven't auditioned any speakers", it's a guessing game. If you remember specific brands and models, it's somewhat easier, but if possible, I would recommend listening to some, to get an idea of what's out there.

I would agree about the Dynaudio, but don't expect them to sound like larger towers, although they very well with low end.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

I like Aperion Verus Grand bookshelves. I haven't heard the Verus Grand II which is the newer version but the originals are fantastic and I doubt they would have messed them up. They are a neutral speaker, pretty accurate.

If you're looking for a more colored sound then I like B&W. They aren't all that accurate but they have that smooth B&W sound.

There really are so many options out there that it is really hard to recommend just one. You really have to try and audition them for yourself.
