I have a TPMC-3X here but no charger/dock. This remote is wi-fi and i can connect with Toolbox but i get warned that its not on the charger when i try to upload the display project.

I am not having any luck connecting via USB. Anything special i need to do to get connected with Windows 10?

This happened to me with a different product. Using Windows 10 and it took forever to find the "Windows Mobile Device Center for USB Connection". Microsoft likes to hide things and/or change their names from OS version to the next OS version. That's why I prefer to do everything that I can on my iMac.

I was able to get connected via USB. Turns out that even with USB the remote needs to be in the docking station for upload? I cant understand the logic behind this but it is what it is.

To get a USB connection...in addition to installing Windows Mobile Device Center i also had to do this...

1.Start Menu/search for Services/Open these (one at a time)...
  • Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity
  • Windows Mobile-based device connectivity
2.Select the Log On tab.
3.Check the "Local System account" radio button.
4.Apply & okay.
5.Restart the computer.
