Anyone wall mount one yet? I'll be installing my first Beam and wall mount next week directly below a TV. On Playbars I usually leave no space between the TV and the Playbar. Wiring from Playbar is concealed behind and doesn't show since there is no visible gap. It looks like if I leave no space between the Beam and the TV I'll be covering some or all of the controls that are on top of the Beam.

Do I say "F it, no one uses the buttons on the soundbar"? The microphone mute button is positioned the furthest back and will definitely be covered - of course it's the one button I would want to access. I can add a 2" space but then I need to conceal the wires. Any other ideas? Experiences?

Have you seen the wall mount?
Its more of a shelf. I doubt I'll wall mount many because of that.

Agreed. Beam is 4" deep. Mount adds 1". TV @ 2.5" deep plus 1/2" mount. Beam will extend 2" in front of TV. Playbar is definitely preferred.

This beam is utterly stupid.

I like the idea of a playbar lite but I also see why others in my position would hate the thing.

I read some other posts on reddit talking about how sonos has said mounting this directly under a TV shouldnt be a problem, specifically with blocking alexa mics.

We normally used hanging arm mounts with the playbar. Interested to see if there is a way we can do something similar with the beam but have my doubts.

Just did one today.

It sounded like someone farting on a snare drum. Very thin, no base at decent volume.

The mount is stupid. The Beam stuck out around 2" further than the display.

HDMI ARC is dumb because this client had a cable box, appleTV, BluRay, and Xbox. The Beam takes up an HDMI input on the TV. We couldn't get the optical/hdmi dongle thing to work right either.

Luckily we sold the TV, remote, and install, and they got the Beam direct from Sonos.

I think it makes decent sense to use it on a tv that is not wall mounted and the playbar and playbase don't fit.

I have two on order, so I will let you guys know once I get them how they sound with a sub.

Not impressed. Might not be bad for a guest bedroom or master bedroom where forking out $700 for a playbar is not realistic.

Did you leave space between the bottom of the TV and the top of the beam or did you squeeze them together? Can you get to the buttons? Does it matter if you cant?

Yup, this is for a kitchen. I already steered clients into playbars that wanated beams because they "read the news".

I Went to Beast Buy to hear one and it was connected, but not set up in the tablets for demo. The nice sales droid couldn't figure out how to make it work and it wasn't connected to any of their networks (unless they have a hidden SSID). Said someone from Sonos would have to come out to set it up. Right. Sonos sends people out to maintain Beast Buy's displays. Glad to see they're still not paying commission or training people.

I can see using this for a 32" TV. Well, I could have, until I read the description of its sound.

I thought the sound was great. At least as good or better than the Sonos One

They typically lock those tablets / Sonos networks down so sales people can't gain access to them. All support for the stand is done remotely, often via teamviewer.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

For the most part I really like Sonos. I think they make a good product and normally I really go out of my way to stand up for them.

With that being said.... I just opened up the beam and I am shocked by their stpidity. They didn’t put an optical input on the beam and while that really bothered me I knew they were going to put an adapter with the unit so I figured I would find a way to deal with it. THE MOTHERF#&@ING ADAPTER IS $&@ING HDMI FEMALE! SO NOW TO **PROPERLY** INSTALL THIS THING I NEED TO GO HDMI OUT OF THE BEAM INTO ADAPTER INTO OPTICAL INTO TV.

I mean seriously who the f thought this up?

Even better... the adapter is optical male.

So in situations where you are trying to replace an existing sound bar you will have to go hdmi out of sound bar into adapter into optical double female connector into existing optical cable.

What are they doing?
