C4 guys,

Is there such a thing as a DirecTV 232 driver? If so, how to get?
how in the hell does ernie make money?

Not that I am aware of, We stick to IR for the Genie Minis (HR24 or HR21 driver) or the IP driver for the main DVR.

Havent used it in years but you used to be able to use a USB to DB9.

Looks like it has been confirmed to work with HR24's still but I dont see any mention of Genie

Yes. I can confirm this works flawlessly. I'm inquiring as to a C4 driver to use with DirecTV Visa serial.

just write one. 1-way RS232 can be done in driver wizard.

I still ahve a few jobs out there controllALL directv boxes RS232. Correct, usb to DB9. Pita, but works.

This worked. I've gained access to C4 using back channels, er, no training yet. Thanks

Fins, its just more work and wire tidying. Bigger ends, thicker wires. Connectors can slip out of place etc, no locking mechanisms. Granted, its not digging ditches but its not the easiest form of control. But, it works.

While the USB and DB9 connectors don’t lock, my experience is they stay in place much easier than IR flashers. Also, for me I would rather work with cat wire in my racks than those little flashed wires that never seem to want to make for a nice finish.
