When doing commercial office fit out we often have to deal with the cable management for desks.

Some of the new ikea desks have this great elasticated cable mesh like on this desk (scroll down a bit in the article to see it) : [Link: gizmodo.com]

But mosts desk either have a wire cable tray underneath or we end up fitting a 3rd party cable tray for desks.

Id really like to be able to have something like the elasticated mesh that ikea use. Has anyone come across a similar under desk cable mesh similar sold as a stand alone item.

It is more like a hammock, but its really easy for small desk installs you just pull it back and slot everything in.

I find the traditional wire cages really fiddly to work with as there is limited access.

Go to a craft store and buy some fake fishing net. Then sell it as reclaimed net removed from the ocean. Will make a great story in your sales pitch. Seriously, google mesh material. Very easy to find.

I personally would hate this under the desk mesh stuff. With my long legs, I tend to push up the desk with my knees and what not. And I would be afraid of damaging a cable or a plug... because we all know how dumb people would be and put an inline plug under the desk in a spot like that.

Then there’s the back area, again I’ll be twitching my feet in that area too.
